Your profile:
- Strong background in optical transmission systems
- Motivated to tackle challenges of advanced optical communications systems

- Background in space division multiplexing and digital signal processing is a plus

Objective:
Within the BMBF-funded projects AZUR, OPTIMUX and HIRO, we are looking for multiple researchers to perform cutting-edge numerical and experimental investigations of advanced optical transmission systems using space-division multiplexing. Topics range from randomly coupled multicore-fiber transmission over few-mode MCF systems to heterogeneous few-mode – MCF transmission networks.

Ph.D. Position TVL-E13/100% | Mixed-Signal Integrated Circuit Designer for AI Accelerators
The integrated circuits group of INT is looking for candidates to design analog / mixed-signal circuits to increase the energy efficiency of AI
Topic:
- Analog & mixed-signal circuit design in cutting-edge FD-SOI CMOS technology
- Ultra energy-efficient circuits for artificial neural network (ANN) inference
- Optical data link equalization with ANNs
Your profile:
- Strong background in analog or mixed-signal circuits
- Ability to dive deep into integrated circuit problems
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Background in AI and ANNs is a plus

Objective:
Design, characterization and application of novel ultra energy-efficient electronic integrated analog computing circuits in 22 nm FD-SOI CMOS technology within the BMBF-funded project SUSTAINET. The circuits will be the core of a new neural ASIC for signal equalization, crosstalk compensation and low-latency signal regeneration in transceivers for optical transmission links. The major advantage of analog neural circuits over conventional digital signal processing is the potential of an order of magnitude higher energy efficiency.
