This year's institute excursion took us to the historic university town of Tübingen, where we enjoyed a varied and engaging programme. We began with the guided walking tour "Tübingen University Stories", which started at the University's Old Assembly Hall (Aula) and led us via the Town Hall and Tübingen Castle to St. George's Collegiate Church (Stiftskirche). Along the way, we gained fascinating insights into the history of the university, the town, and some of the notable figures who have shaped its rich academic tradition.
After the tour, we enjoyed lunch together and took the opportunity to catch up with colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere.
The day concluded with a traditional punting boat trip on the River Neckar. Those who wished even had the chance to try punting the boat themselves under expert guidance, making for a memorable and enjoyable experience.
The excursion provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen connections across the institute while spending an enjoyable day together in one of Germany's most beautiful university towns.
